Traveling to the Roots of Change Conference is convenient through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest and most connected airport. Located approximately 10 miles from downtown Atlanta (about 15–20 minutes by car, depending on traffic), the airport offers extensive domestic and international flight options, making travel accessible for attendees arriving from across the country and around the globe.

Ground transportation from the airport includes rideshare services, taxis, rental cars, and MARTA rail, which provides a direct route from the airport to major areas throughout the city. We look forward to welcoming you to Atlanta.

Conference attendees are invited to stay at the official conference hotel, Hilton Atlanta. A dedicated conference room block has been secured to provide attendees with a special discounted rate during the Roots of Change Conference. The Hilton Atlanta is located approximately 10 miles (15–20 minutes by car, depending on traffic) from Atlanta Metropolitan State College, the official conference venue for Days 1 and 2. The Closing Ceremonies will be held at the historic Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History, located approximately 2 miles (5–10 minutes by car) from the hotel.

The hotel’s central downtown location offers convenient access to dining, transportation, and key conference events. We encourage early booking, as rooms within the conference block are limited and expected to fill quickly.

We strongly encourage attendees to consider rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft or to coordinate carpools with fellow participants during the conference.

Atlanta is a vibrant and growing city, and traffic congestion—particularly during peak morning and afternoon hours—can be significant.

Utilizing rideshare or carpooling helps reduce parking demand, minimizes travel stress, and supports a smoother arrival experience for all attendees. It also provides an added opportunity to connect with fellow conference participants along the way. We recommend planning extra travel time and arranging transportation in advance, particularly during high-traffic hours.
