Educators are innovators.
On behalf of the Roots of Change Conference, we warmly invite you to submit a proposal and join us in advancing a powerful national dialogue centered on leadership, scholarship, and lived experience.
Roots of Change was created to amplify the voices, research, practice, and impact of Black men in education while also welcoming the educators, scholars, and advocates who work alongside them to advance opportunity, equity, and excellence for all students. This conference is both a scholarly convening and a movement space — one where ideas are shared, strategies are strengthened, and community is built across sectors and generations.
We are seeking proposals that challenge thinking, inspire action, elevate research, and offer practical pathways forward. Whether you are presenting empirical research, school-based practice, policy insight, leadership strategy, or narrative experience, your voice has the potential to shape this conversation in meaningful ways.
The deadline for proposal submissions is March 31, 2026. We encourage you to submit your work early and to share this call with your networks.
We look forward to reviewing your proposal and welcoming you to Roots of Change.
With respect and anticipation,
Dr. Emily Allen Williams
